High School Athlete
GOING TO AMERICA REQUIRES COURAGE,
aND THE WHOLE PROCESS REQUIRES SERIOUS prEPARATION.
College Student is a mentorship program designed for all future students of American universities, both athletes and high school students who do not play sports.
Colleges in America differ in culture, sports, and academic programs. It is important for us to get to know you well and understand your spheres of interest. We want to target colleges that will offer you the opportunity to be the best version of yourself and get the most out of your study experience in America.
The first year of study in America is the most challenging due to: cultural adaptation, nostalgia, handling academic and sports responsibilities, language barrier, following the lectures and taking the exams in a non-native language.
For the above reasons, we are mentoring you from the first to the last year of your studies. We have prepared an appropriate mentoring program that will help you prepare and cope with all the challenges, in order to get the most out of the experience of studying and living in America.
The College Student mentorship program includes individual preparation sessions on the following topics:
Understanding cultural differences and adapting to the American culture
The famous American question “How are you?” is not so much of a question as it is a greeting. Every culture is unique and often a misunderstanding of the culture can be a stumbling rock in the process of adapting to a new environment and circumstances.
Advising on how to build quality relationships with professors and fellow students
The fact is relationships matter. By building these strong relationships early on, students feel supported. For example, academic challenges and how you will deal with them largely depend on the relationship, both with the professor and with fellow students, who with the right approach can be your greatest support and help.
Understanding America’s legal system
Even the smallest problem with the law in America can lead to losing of a sports scholarship and deportation. The laws themselves do not differ much from the laws in Europe, but the consequences of violations can be significantly different.
Resources at universities
Resources at American universities can save international students a lot of time and energy in the adjustment process. Knowing which door to knock on with which question, whether academic or related to social life on campus, could be a great benefit and advantage.
The role of parents
As parents of an international student, you will have many things to consider as you prepare your child for college in the USA. Therefore, we will provide parents the opportunity to speak with the parents of former and current fellows in America, in order to adequately prepare for this experience.
English
In cooperation with the renowned English language school Maryland, which specializes in preparations for professional tests (TOEFL, SAT and ACT) we will help you prepare for English language proficiency test of your choice.
Preparation of documentation for applying to college and obtaining a student visa
We handle the complete college and US visa application process. At the very beginning of our cooperation, we present you with a time frame, so that all documents are collected and submitted on time.
